Bowling: Parkway clinches girls district title; Airline, Parkway battling for District 1 boys championship

Parkway has clinched the girls district championship with one week left in the high school bowling regular season.

The Lady Panthers are 9-0 and lead Airline by two games. Byrd is third at 6-4.

Airline leads District 1 boys at 5-0. Parkway is second at 4-1. The Vikings defeated the Panthers last week. The teams meet again Thursday at Holiday Lanes.

Loyola has clinched the District 2 boys championship at 5-0. Benton is second at 3-2.

The Regional Playoffs are set for March 22 at Holiday Lanes. The top three boys and girls teams advance to the Bi-Regional Playoffs in Lafayette on March 28.

Parkway’s Nicole Taylor leads the girls district with a 186 average. She also has the high game of the season at 244 and the high series of 617. No other bowler in the girls district has cracked the 600 mark.

Ashley Shea is second on the Parkway team and third overall with a 150 average. She has a high game of 214 and series of 519.

Katie Black ranks third on the team and fourth overall with a 147 average. She has a high game of 212 and series of 481.

Jamie Rivers leads Airline with a 141 average, ranking seventh overall. Rivers’ best game is a 191 and her best series is 482.

Courtney Riede is second on the team and eighth overall with a 135 average. She has a top game of 188 and series of 456.

Baily Russsell is third on team and 11th overall with a 130 average. She has a high game of 201 and series of 508.

Amber Simmons leads Haughton with a 134 average. Jordan Lawrence tops Benton with a 126. Tizzie Rags leads Bossier with a 124.

Destin Meza leads the Parkway boys and ranks second overall with a 192 average. HIs high game of 277 is the best among all boys this season. His high series of 662 ranks second to Loyola’s Adam Reine, who has a 672. Reine also leads the boys districts with a 208 average.

Chandler Sumpter is second on the Parkway team and third overall with a 186 average. He has a high game of 238 and series of 635.

Alexander Davis ranks third on the team and fifth overall with a 169 average. He has a high game of 244 and series of 568.

Courtland Carey tops Airline with 168 average. He ranks sixth overall. Carey has a high game of 212 and series of 568.

Chase Harrell ranks second on the team and seventh overall with a 166 average. His 256 high game is the second best this season in the boys districts.

Nick Mendones ranks third on the team and 10th overall with a 163 average. He has a high game of 217 and series of 569.

Austin Sepeda leads Benton with a 153 average. He has a high game of 211 and series of 531. Kyle Barlass is second on the team at 140 and Zachary Fussell third at 138.

Ryan Reggio tops Haughton with a 157 average and Zach Gardner is second at 143. Kenyan Lee leads Bossier with a 123 average and Christopher Huckaby is second at 120.
