The Airline Vikings and Bossier Bearkats posted boys basketball victories Tuesday.
The Vikings defeated the Plain Dealing Lions 70-60 at Airline, and the Bearkats downed Ruston 53-48 in the Natchitoches Central tournament.
Elsewhere, the Haughton Bucs dropped a 70-59 decision to the Minden Crimson Tide at Minden.
At Airline, KJ Bilbo scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Vikings (2-1). Scott Jackson scored 22 points and Jacob Guest 16, including three 3-pointers.
Dakeldrick Oliver hit four 3-pointers and led Plain Dealing (1-1) with 14 points. Tyjuan Thomas added 10. Keldrick Carper and Herbert McCauley scored eight each.
Airline led 28-21 at the half and stretched the lead to as many as 10 in the second. An Oliver 3-pointer with just over a minute left got Plain Dealing within five but the Vikings held off the Lions.
A big difference in the game was free throw shooting. Airline went to the line 36 times and made 22. Bilbo was 11 of 17, including seven of 12 in the fourth quarter alone. The Vikings were 11 of 22 in the quarter.
Plain Dealing shot only 12 free throws and made just five.
At Natchitoches, Larry Robinson scored 12 points, Chris Davenport 11 and Travis Manning 10 as Bossier won for the first time this season after two close losses.
The Bearkats close out the event against H.B. Bourgeois on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
At Minden, Stephen Simmons scored 22 points and Damien Sears 15 for Haughton in the loss to the Crimson Tide. Strawberry Batton led Minden with 16.
