The Bossier Bearkats grabbed an early and cruised to a 68-45 boys basketball victory over the Airline Vikings on Tuesday night at Airline.
Tyrese English hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Bearkats raced to a 16-7l lead. Bossier stretched the lead to 36-14 at the half and led by as many as 30 in the second.
English and Chris Davenport led Bossier (4-2), which won its fourth in a row, with 14 points each. Antonio Davis added eight and Larry Robinson had seven.
Trace Parker topped Airline (2-2) with 15 points. Trent Ivy chipped in with 12.
Next up for Airline is the St. Amant tournament.
Elsewhere, Parkway opened its season with a 79-68 overtime road win over Benton, and Plain Dealing fell to Captain Shreve 72-52 at Shreve.
At Benton, the Panthers scored with a second left to send the game into overtime.
Kamren Davis led Parkway, which trailed by seven at the half, with 30 points. Trey Webber added 17. Chrishawn Harris and Jason Owens scored 13 each.
Jerriyun Lawrence led Benton (1-2) with 18 points. Jalen Harding had 15 and Jessie Little chipped in with 10.
Benton faces North DeSoto at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the Haughton Jack Clayton Invtiational at Haughton. Parkway plays Byrd Thursday at 4 at BPCC in the first round.
