The Bossier Bearkats went undefeated in district play for the sixth straight season with a 63-53 victory over the Evangel Christian Eagles Tuesday night at Evangel.

The game was the regular-season finale for the Bearkats, who finished 10-0 in District 1-3A and 23-7 overall. Bossier has won 60 straight district games dating back to the last eight games of the 2007-08 season.

Bossier was ranked No. 2 in the Class 3A power rankings going into the game and will likely be one of the top four seeds in the playoffs.

Also Tuesday, Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing closed the regular season with a huge win. The Lions knocked off Arcadia, which is No. 1 in the Class 1A power rankings, 55-46, at Plain Dealing.

New Tech (18-6, 7-3) handed the Hornets their only loss in District 1-1A and just their third of the season. Arcadia (25-3, 9-1) had already clinched the district title.

New Tech went into the game ranked No. 11 in the Class 1A power rankings. The Lions could move up a few spots thanks to the victory.

At Evangel, Bossier jumped out to a 12-5 first-quarter lead and led 28-18 at the half.

Senior Devonte Hall led the Bearkats with 20 points. Kentrell Hardy and Malik Dunn scored 15 each.

At Plain Dealing, the Lions led 25-22 at the half and then outscored the Hornets 9-3 in the third to take a 34-25 lead into the fourth.

Chiner Long had a huge game for New Tech, scoring 31 points. Ja’Carlius Stromile had 10 rebounds and six assists to go with his seven points. Keldrick Carper pulled down 11 rebounds.
