Boys basketball: Semifinals set in Barksdale Federal Credit Union Parkway Tournament

The semifinals are set in the Barksdale Federal Credit Union Parkway Tournament.

Benton faces Parkway in the first semifinal at 2:15 p.m. Saturday. Southwood takes on North Caddo in the second one at 5:15. The championship game is scheduled for approximately 8:15.

In the consolation semifinals, Airline plays Plain Dealing at 3:45. The winner faces Calvary in the finals at approximately 6:45.

In Friday’s lone quarterfinal, Southwood edged Fair Park 56-55.

Dominic Caldwell paced the Cowboys with 16 points. Shakelvin Calhoun added 13. Diranique Holmes topped Fair Park with 16. Ladarrius Lister added 11.

Trent Ivy led Airline with 14 points against Mansfield. KJ Bilbo led eight other Vikings who scored with nine.

Mansfield led 22-18 at the half. Airline cut the lead to one after three and then dominated the fourth, outscoring the Wolverines 20-11.

The Vikings were a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line in the fourth period.

Keldrick Carper scored 17 points to lead Plain Dealing against Haughton. Tyjuan Thomas helped the Lions’ cause with 15. Max Washington and JaKaleb McGee scored 10 each. De’Anthony Briggs added eight in the Lions’ balanced attack.

Damien Sears led Haughton with 20 points. Stephen Simmons added 13 and Darius Brooks 11.

Calvary got 14 points from LeeLee Williams and 11 from Lemique Spriolls in the victory over Ringgold.
