The BPCC Foundation received CEFEX Certification from Blaine Aikin, Executive Chairman of the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX), a Fi360 company, at a luncheon this week. The BPCC Foundation was the first non-profit foundation in Louisiana to receive this prestigious designation. This certification confirms that the BPCC Foundation is adhering to a global standard of excellence for Investment Stewards.

“We are very proud to have received our CEFEX certification from the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence,” commented Dr. Jennifer Lawrence, Director for Institutional Advancement and Grants at BPCC. “This process was a learning experience for our team and our Board of Directors.  We are excited what this designation means for our Foundation and the added assurance for our donors that funds are managed and invested soundly.”

The CEFEX standard of excellence for Investment Stewards is based on 21 fiduciary practices that seek to increase long-term investment performance by diversifying the portfolio across multiple asset classes and peer groups, evaluating investment management fees and expenses, and selecting or terminating investment managers. The practices also help uncover investment and/or procedural risk, which may assist in prioritizing investment management projects.

To learn more about the importance of CEFEX certification for Investment Stewards, see Blaine Aikin’s whitepaper, “What’s Trust Worth as an Investment Steward.” To inquire about our Investment Steward Certification, contact Tim Nowak, Business Development Manager, CEFEX at 412-657-3959 or tnowak@cefex.org.
