BPCC music program schedules fall pops band concert

The BPCC Concert Winds will present its Fall Pops Concert at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 26 in the Performing Arts Theatre on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas St., Bossier City, LA.

The Concert Winds, under the direction of Dr. Michael D. Hart, will perform popular selections including, “Americans We” by Henry Fillmore; “A Copland Tribute” arranged by Clare Grundman; “Tritsch-Tratsh Polka” by Johann Strauss; a medley of spooky tunes entitled “House of Horrors”; and “The Sound of Music” arranged by Robert Russell Bennett.

BPCCThis marks the fourth year in which the BPCC Music Program has presented a Pops Concert. The BPCC Concert Choir is scheduled to present their Pops Concert in the spring 2015 term.

Many of the students enrolled in the ensembles are full-tuition music scholarship recipients. Music scholarships are awarded to students who pass an audition, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and are full-time BPCC students. Auditions for BPCC music scholarships are held periodically throughout the year.

This concert is free and open to the public. For more information about this concert or to arrange for a music scholarship audition, contact Dr. Hart at 678-6146 or mhart@bpcc.edu.
