BPCC music program schedules spring choir pops concert

The BPCC Concert Choir will present their Spring Pops Concert at 7:30 pm on Friday, March 4 in the Performing Arts Theatre (Building C), on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas St., Bossier City, LA. The concert is free and open to the public.


New BPCC LogoThe Concert Choir, accompanied by pianist Dr. Dan Gibbs, will take the stage to perform popular selections guaranteed to bring enjoyment to audiences of all ages. The choir is under the direction of Mr. William Bond.


The concert will include Can You Feel the Love Tonight by Elton John and Tim Rice; Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, arranged by Mark Brymer; The Sound of Silence, by Paul Simon; Down to the River to Pray, arranged by Sheldon Curry; and September, arranged by Mark Brymer.


The BPCC Music Program Pops Concert series began in 2012 when the Concert Winds and Concert Choir shared the stage for an evening of light and popular music. Since then, the ensembles have traded pops performances in the fall and spring semesters.


Many of the students enrolled in the ensembles are music scholarship recipients. Music scholarships are awarded to students who pass an audition, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and are full-time BPCC students.
