The Bossier Parish Community College Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players announce the cast and crew of the Broadway musical fantasy, Seussical the Musical. The show was adapted from the books and stories of Dr. Seuss, with book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music and book by Stephen Flaherty.
Show dates for Seussical the Musical are at 7:30 pm October 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 and at 2:00 pm October 16 and 23. Performances will be held in the Performing Arts Theatre (Building C) on the BPCC campus, 6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City, LA.
The only thing more fun than reading a Dr. Seuss book is seeing a fun-filled production – live, onstage with all of Dr. Seuss’ most popular characters! Cat in the Hat is the host and Horton the Elephant is guide on a journey from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the World of the Whos, as JoJo, a little boy with a big imagination proves that a person is a person no matter how small! Seussical is fun for the whole family!
The cast list includes Lee Townsend as Cat, Luke Digilormo as Horton, Levi Volcheck as JoJo, Tova Volcheck as Gertrude, Jasey Gilbert as Mayzie, Gabrielle James as the Sour Kangaroo, John Medlin as General Khan Schmitz, Adam Philley as the Mayor and Annie Barker as Mrs. Mayor. The ensemble includes Terry Anderson, Katie Black, Taylor Brown, Sam Copeland, Dillon Dixon, Shaundarius Hardman, Lauren Holland, Jamie Johnstone, Caroline Lamb, Hudson Lawrence, Lari Leber, Kelly McFarland, Gabby McFerren, Christian Marshall, Rebecca Port, Will Sessions, Jaren Stringer, Tomiya Washington.
Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, dean of Communication and Performing Arts, will direct the play and music for this magical musical extravaganza. Laura M. Beeman will choreograph, Jonathon Offutt will design sets and props, and Rona Leber will design costumes. Additional staff include Keith Bruce as lighting designer, David White as technical director, and Elizabeth Jones as stage manager.
