BPCC to hold record graduation

Bossier Parish Community College will hold two ceremonies for its 65th fall graduation on Wednesday, December 18, 2013:

  • 9:30 am – divisions of Technology, Engineering and Mathematics AND Science, Nursing and Allied Health
  • 2:00 pm – all other academic divisions

Both graduation ceremonies will be held in BPCC’s Health & Physical Education Complex, 6220 E. Texas St., Bossier City, LA.

Credentials will be awarded to 377 graduates, making this fall’s graduation the largest fall graduation on record. Fall 2012 awarded 326 graduates with credentials.

“The two words that drive everything that we do at BPCC are access and success,” said Chancellor Jim Henderson. “At the beginning of each recent semester, we have announced record enrollment. Today, we are proud to announce record completions. Each of these graduates is now prepared for success in the workforce or at the next level of education. As a result, the future quality of life in our community looks brighter, and the competitive advantage our employers enjoy in the form of developed talent has never been stronger.”

Graduates who have served in the U.S. Armed Services will be wearing red, white and blue honor cords, a new addition to the graduation ceremonies. Barksdale Federal Credit Union generously sponsored these U.S. Armed Forces Services honor cords.

Fall 2013 graduation ceremonies will be streamed LIVE via Livestream at http://new.livestream.com/BPCCLive. This service allows BPCC graduates to give their friends and family who can’t make it to graduation a way to watch them walk across the stage.
