BPCC women fall to top-ranked Trinity Valley

The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs played No. 1 ranked Trinity Valley Community College almost even for a half before falling 104-89 in a Region XIV game in on Wednesday in Athens, Texas.

BPCC trailed 27-15 at the end of the first quarter. But the Lady Cavs outscored the Lady Cards 28-20 in the second and were down by just four at the half.

Trinity Valley regained control with a 32-point third quarter and took a 15-point lead into the fourth.

Former Byrd standout Diamond Willis led BPCC (15-6, 7-5) with 23 points. Former Haughton star Mikayla Barber also had a good game with 19 points. T’Erika Bell added 15 and Desiree Lyons 11.

Naomi Davenport led Trinity Valley (19-1, 11-0) with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Christalah Lyons had 23 points. Maya Singleton had 20 points and 10 rebounds.

BPCC hosts Paris Junior College Saturday at 2 p.m.
