Bruce C. Asberry

BOSSIER CITY – Bruce C. Asberry, age 75, passed away December 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1938 in Summerfield, LA to Sam Carroll Asberry and Myrtle (McCullum) Asberry. He was a fireman/machinest in the United States Navy where he served from February 12, 1957 to February 2, 1961. He worked and retired from Libby Glass Company in Shreveport. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gail June Asberry, and grandson Kyle Stevens. He is survived by his children, Karen Lowery and husband Richard, Sherri Stevens, and Troy Asberry and wife Tammy Garrett Asberry; sister Twyla Bartlett, grandchildren Andrea Mangrum, Oris Kemp, Jr, Caden Asberry, Lyndsey Stevens, and Matthew Stevens; a number of great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with honors will be held 12 PM Monday December 23, 2013 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Rev. Larry Bass will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday December 22, 2013 from 3-5 PM at the Aulds Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Lowery, Hank Cushing, Oris Kemp, Matthew Stevens, Troy Asberry, and Tommy Griffin.

The family would like to thank Wendy Scrimshaw RN, of Gamble Hospice and Willis Knighton Life Care and Staff for all their care and understanding.
