Detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed home invasion and robbery that occurred around 5:40 a.m. Thursday morning in the Dogwood South subdivision.SheriffLogo

According to a post on the BSO Facebook page, detectives DO NOT believe the act is random, but rather targeted.

“The male resident was returning home from a business in Shreveport when he was attacked by three black men, possibly four, wearing masks and carrying guns, as the man arrived home. The armed suspects duct-taped the man and woman at the residence and robbed them of money and jewelry. The man was treated for minor injuries. Two small children were at home and unharmed. Investigators are working on obtaining surveillance video, as well as further descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. We hope to have that out soon.”

The Facebook post continues to say that there are reports circulating through social media that there have been multiple home invasions reported in Dogwood South. However, the Sheriff’s Office says this is the first home invasion “in quite some time here in the entire parish” they have investigated.

“…this kind of talk is only frightening residents,” the post says. “There have, however, been some vehicle burglaries in the Dogwood area, which are serious in and of themselves, but a home invasion is quite different, and we don’t want to falsely alarm residents. As always, though, we do encourage residents to stay vigilant and look out for one another.”

If you know of such crimes that have taken place, whether home invasion, burglary, robbery, theft or other, please contact the Bossier Sheriff’s Office immediately at 318-965-2203.
