BSO to offer church security team training

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is offering an eight-hour church security team training class to be held over a period of two evenings.

The class will be from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 6.  The Tuesday class will be held at the Viking Drive Substation, 2510 Viking Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111 and the Thursday night class will be held at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office Firing Range, 2977 Old Plain Dealing Road, Plain Dealing, LA 71064.  SheriffLogo

Those participating must attend both evenings to receive their certification.

The eight-hour class is offered at no charge to residents of Bossier Parish and is limited to 30 registrants.  All participants should wear suitable clothing for the range, bring drinks, and bring their preferred handgun and compatible holster.  Each participant should bring 200 rounds of the appropriate caliber ammunition.

Anyone attending this training must already possess a Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit.  Each participant will leave their weapon and ammunition in their vehicle until instructed otherwise.  A gun safety presentation will be made prior to going out on the range.  Please leave all other weapons at home.
