The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is offering a Handgun Safety and Familiarization class on May 31 for residents of Bossier Parish.
The class is offered free of charge and will run from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Viking Drive Substation at 2510 Viking Drive in Bossier City. This will not be a shooting class, but rather will familiarize you with how to safely handle your individual handgun.
You may bring your own handgun to the class, but it’s not required for attendance. However, ensure your weapon is unloaded, and do not bring any ammunition.
“I want our residents to know how to safely operate and maintain their own handguns and enjoy their 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.
The class is limited to 50 persons and is open to Bossier residents 18 years of age and older. Call the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy at 965-3525 to register.
