Bossier Parish School buses transporting students home in Elm Grove, South Bossier and Haughton may have to take an alternate route, causing possible delays, Wednesday afternoon, February 10.

A burn chamber transport, headed from the Port of Natchitoches to Camp Minden, is expected to significantly snarl traffic. On Wednesday, the chamber will be traveling north on Highway 71 to the LA-527 junction (Taylor Town Road). It will then turn east on LA-527 toward Haughton and is expected to arrive at the Sligo Road/Johnson Koran Road (Highway 612) junction at approximately 1:30 p.m. where it will remain parked until Thursday.

Bossier Schools’ Transportation Department will be monitoring the arrival of the chamber and  should there be delays that will impact afternoon routes, bus drivers will be contacted to take alternative routes.

The transport will resume Thursday after 9 a.m. and will proceed on Highway 157 to the intersection of LA 3227, then travel east in the westbound lanes of US Highway 80 to Camp Minden.

School bus transportation is not expected to be affected Thursday, but transportation officials will be communicating with Bossier Schools in case delays are encountered.
