The Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission has elected its officers
to lead the Port for the next year at its meeting on January 13, 2025.
Joshua K. Williams will serve as President of the Commission, replacing current President, Bill Altimus.
Williams has served on the commission since 2021, when he was appointed to represent the City of
Shreveport.
“Thank you to Port Commission President Bill Altimus for his leadership this past year. 2024 was a busy
year for The Port of Caddo-Bossier, marked by the completion of the Bossier City waterline, the opening
of a new 40,000 square-foot heavy-load warehouse, and the acquisition of an additional 1,000 acres,”
said Williams. “In 2025, we will see progress on a new I-69 Service Road connecting The Port to I-49 in
DeSoto Parish, infrastructure improvements to our campus on the west side of Highway 1, and the
development of a new tenant.”
Retired Judge Stephen V. Callaway was elected vice-president of the commission. Longtime Port
Commissioner James D. Hall will serve as secretary-treasurer.
The 5,000-acre Port of Caddo-Bossier is located at the head of navigation on the Red River Waterway in Northwest Louisiana. An inland multi-modal transportation and distribution center, The Port works hand in hand with the port system of Louisiana to successfully link customers throughout the Ark-La-Tex region to domestic and international markets via the Mississippi River, the nation’s largest river system, and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
