Celebrating Women’s History Month

Bossier City Commission for Women to host events

Throughout the month of March, the Bossier City Commission for Women will hold several events focused on honoring and inspiring local women in observance of Women’s History Month.

The events will be wide spread across Bossier City and geared towards women of all ages. In partnership with Bossier City, alongside support from local businesses, events are offered at little or no cost to attendees.

For more information about the events and to register contact event organizer, Lindsey Nickerson at 453-9285 orlindsey_nickerson@ml.com. Connect on Facebook at Commission for Women of Bossier City for added details about these and other events offered in the 2014 Inspiring Women series.

The Commission for Women of Bossier City, Inc. was established in 1986 to act as an advocacy agency for women in the Bossier City area. The Commission is comprised of 25 women who offer their efforts to promote and further legal, political, economic and educational opportunities for the advancement of women in the Bossier City area and enhance the quality of life for all area residents, particularly women and families, dedicating time to examining family and women’s issues in the community.

For a number of years, the Commission supported the efforts of the YWCA during the annual Women’s Week events, and hosted the week’s final Luncheon. However, with the loss of the YWCA presence in the community, the Commission decided to continue the week of events and created Inspiring Women Week.
