Chris Sepeda was looking for a public service outlet. That’s when he found the Bossier Chamber of Commerce Diplomats.
“It seemed like a fun opportunity to get my name and the paper’s name out there,” said Sepeda, an advertising account executive with The Bossier Press-Tribune.
Sepeda received the Outstanding Service Award for 2017 from the Bossier Chamber of Commerce Diplomats.
“The Outstanding Service Award is a great honor as it is chosen by one’s fellow peers,” said Katie Theriot with the Chamber. “The Diplomats are asked to nominate a peer who has excelled as a Bossier Chamber volunteer within the realms of leadership, participation, teamwork and the like. The Diplomat that is chosen is not only a great representative of the business in which they work, but they also represent the Bossier Chamber of Commerce with great respect.”
“I am so proud of Chris and all that he has accomplished as a member of our Bossier Press Tribune team. We have a long time association/partnership with the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and their team does an outstanding job in all that they do for the businesses in our area,” said Bossier Press-Tribune Publisher Randy Brown.
I speak from a personal perspective in this regard – as I was truly honored in winning it in 2005. The award still sits in a prominent place on a bookshelf in my office.”
Sepeda joined the Diplomats in July of 2016. Later that year, he received the Diplomat Scott Croft Eternal Spirit Award for the fourth quarter for that year.
“It is a testament to Chris’s nature and dedication that he has received an award each year that he has been involved with the Bossier Chamber Diplomat Program,” Theriot said.
As a Chamber Diplomat, Sepeda attends ribbon cuttings a local business and helps spread the word about those businesses. Diplomats also help businesses understand the full benefits of Chamber membership. He said he also enjoyed attending Morning Blends and After Hours networking events and Lunch and Learn programs sponsored by there Chamber.
“It’s humbling,” Sepeda said of the awards. “It lets me know that what I am doing is not being overlooked.”
“Chris’ hard work and dedication as a member of the Bossier Chamber Diplomat organization has made a big impression on me. I am so happy to witness Chris‘ dedication and involvement in this area of helping to carry out the Bossier Chamber’s mission in serving the local business community,” Brown added.
