BOSSIER CITY – Charlene “Raye” Collins Bickley, 82, passed away August 22, 2013. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 24, at 10 a.m. at Bellaire Baptist Church. Dr. Randy Harper of Bellaire Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., prior to the service. A private family internment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Raye was born February 12, 1931, in Nacogdoches County, TX, to Theresa and Charles Collins. She was the youngest of 10 children.
Raye is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Presley Bickley. She is survived by son Randy Bickley and wife, Beth, of Warner Robins, GA, Mark Bickley of Durango, CO, Jana Bickley O’Brien and husband, Kevin, of Shreveport, LA, and Sharla Bickley Langston and husband, Mark, of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, Christopher Bickley, Amanda Aguilar, Nathan Bickley, Erin Bickley, Henry O’Brien, and Charlie Ann O’Brien, and great-grandchildren, Cleo, Olivia, and Lillian Bickley, and Jackson and Landon Aguilar. Raye leaves behind one sister, Faye Cross of Greenwell Springs, LA and more nieces and nephews than we can count.
Pall bearers are Randy Bickley, Nathan Bickley, Kevin O’Brien, Mark Langston, Britton Cross, Terry Collins.
The family expresses thanks to the friends, members and staff at Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City where she was a member for 46 years. The family is grateful for care provided by Dr. Emma McCarty, Dr. Manish Dhawan, Louisiana Care Tenders, and Grace Home in Shreveport. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grace Home.
