Seasonal bazaars highlighted by Les Boutiques de Noel

The holiday shopping season is officially here.

Les Boutiques de Noel has become the signature event that kicks off the holiday season in the Ark-La-Tex.  This year, the holiday extravaganza will transform the Bossier Civic Center into the New Orleans French Quarter for an experience that attracts thousands of shoppers and vendors from around the country.

Meg Goorley, publicity chair, said Les Boutiques de Noel is a one-stop shop to find all your holiday gift needs.

“Shoppers enjoy coming to the show every year because of the variety of vendors and the prices fit any budget,” she said.

Opera Guild volunteers spend many hours planning, organizing, and working out every detail of the market. Vendors will be traveling to Bossier from around the country, as far north as Minnesota, for the show.

New this year, Goorley said, will be more items for men along with the large selection of items for women and children. Les Boutiques de Noel, which features 97 vendors this year, is known to attract more than 10,000 shoppers in the four days it’s open.

“We try not to pick the same kinds of booths in order to give a unique shopping experience,” she said.

All proceeds from Les Boutiques de Noel are dedicated directly to the Shreveport Opera. Programs like the Shreveport Opera Express (SOX), a touring group of the Shreveport Opera that performs nearly 100 educational shows for more than 50,000 school children in Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto and Webster Parishes each year,
