The LSU campus will be closed but classes will be held remotely on Wednesday, Sept. 11, and Thursday, Sept. 12. Students should communicate directly with their professors with any questions about online classes.

All events and activities on campus will be cancelled beginning today at 4:30 p.m. through Thursday.

The Paul M. Hebert Law Center, the Vet School and the LSU Online program will communicate separately with their students and staff about their operations.

The closure includes the University Laboratory School and the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool.

LSU residence halls and on-campus apartments will remain open and food will be available to on-campus residents. Please check LSU Dining’s website and social media accounts for any adjusted hours of dining operations or plans for meal delivery during the storm. Students who live on campus should expect to shelter in place during the storm by remaining indoors and should stay in close contact with Residential Life staff for any instructions. Students living in fraternity or sorority houses should closely monitor all communications from the Greek Life staff for any instructions.

Students living in off-campus housing should prepare their homes, gather emergency supplies, and consider safer shelter options if needed.

LSU bus service will be suspended Wednesday and Thursday. For more information, visit the LSU Parking & Transportation Services website or social media accounts.

Essential employees should check with their supervisors regarding their schedules during the campus closure. Non-essential employees should not report to campus during the closure.

Please watch your LSU email account, LSU.edu, @LSU social media channels, and LSU emergency text messaging for any possible updates. Those who have not signed up for emergency text messages should do so at myLSU by clicking on “Personal Preferences” and “Emergency Contacts.” The LSU Office of Emergency Preparedness will continue to closely monitor this situation and will provide any additional information as necessary.
