Last Saturday the Clifton Eye Center hosted a “Giving Back To Our Community” event at their location in Bossier in support of Operation Blessing, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office food bank program.

The event included a drop off location for non-perishable food items, and area businesses donated various prizes that were raffled off during the day.  State Farm Insurance donated a dunking booth for dunk-a-deputy, and Wing Zone sponsored a hot wing eating contest between the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and the Bossier City Fire Department.  Other businesses that participated in the event were:  Home Depot, Louisiana Power Sports, AutoBody Express, Master Irvin’s House of Discipline, and Sophie’s Italian Ice.

In all, three barrels of food were donated and about $1,300. Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington would like to thank Dr. Deana Clifton and Gail Adams for all their hard work in putting this fundraiser together.

“I’m thankful for the wonderful business partners we have in Bossier Parish. Clifton Eye Center is one of those.” said Sheriff Whittington. “I would also like to thank all the local businesses that came out and supported this fundraiser, and our residents who gave donations to help those in need, I am truly grateful.”
