Col. Robert E. Dixon U.S.A.F., Retired

BOSSIER CITY – A memorial service to celebrate the life of Robert E. Dixon, 83, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Ken Norton of Asbury United Methodist Church. A brief visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

Bob proudly served his country for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force as a KC 135 navigator and squadron commander at Barksdale Air Force Base and retired as Colonel. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Louisiana Tech. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob was the General Plant Manager for McElroy Metal in Clinton, IL.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Callie Dixon; brother, Rodger Dixon; and daughter, Jacqueline Sue Dixon. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Roberta Bodger Dixon; two wonderful “adoptive” daughters, Marilyn Guyton Rowe and Rhonda Davidson Anglin; and three “honorary” grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey, and Jason Rowe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Asbury United Methodist Church, or the charity of choice .
