College baseball: BPCC riding four-game win streak with help from Cole, Bonds, Lewis

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers won their fourth straight game Monday, defeating the Centenary College JV on Monday at Centenary.

Former Benton standout Andrew Cole continued to his hot streak, smashing two doubles and getting two RBI.

Zach Belleio also had two hits, including a double. Carson Boyer, who pitched three innings of relief got the win. Boyer allowed four hits and two earned runs. Starter Austin McWhinney and relievers Andy Reister and Daniel Rushing allowed one hit each.

BPCC’s win came on the heels of a Region XIV three-game sweep of Panola Junior College at home, 7-4, 5-1 and 8-5.

Matt Hammock went 3-for-4 and Austin Stegall and Cole had two hits each in the 7-4 win over Panola. Former Bossier standout Rodney Bonds had two RBI.

Airline product Landon Lewis scattered six hits in six innings for the win.

Cole and Stegall had two hits each in the 5-1 victory. Doc Wilkerson went the distance for the win.

Bonds went 3-for-5 in the 8-5 win. Cole, Tye Holliday and Luke Santiago had two hits apiece. Sarah Hudek, who pitched a perfect eighth inning, got the win.

BPCC (12-9, 3-0) is scheduled to play a single game against Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas, Thursday, weather permitting, and a home doubleheader against Paris at noon Saturday.
