The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers swept a Region XIV doubleheader against Angelina College Sunday in Lufkin, Texas.
BPCC (11-3-1, 4-1) won the first game 11-4 and the second 9-6.
Justin Breen had a grand slam home run, double and five RBI in the first game, which went seven innings.
Alejandro Cazorla went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Gavin Baird went 2-for-3 with a double and walked twice. Connor Crowson went 2-for-4.
Gabriel Cabrera smacked a two-run home run to give the Cavs a 5-1 lead in the top of the third.
Breen’s grand slam gave BPCC a 9-1 lead in the fifth.
Cole Ketzner hit a two-run homer in the seventh, scoring the Cavs’ final runs.
BPCC starter Zach St. Pierre scattered nine hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked one.
Cabrera and Ketzner both homered again in the nine-inning second game.
Ketzner’s two-run shot gave BPCC a 5-1 lead in the top of the fifth.
After Ayden Makarus walked, Cabrera sent one over the center field wall, extending BPCC’s lead to 7-1.
Mason Hammonds went 2-for-4. Breen had a double.
Starter Caden Griffin allowed five hits and three earned runs in four innings.
Trevor Wall gave up four hits and two earned runs over the final five innings. He kept the Roadrunners off the scoreboard in the final four.
Angelina dropped to 12-6 and 3-3.
BPCC returns to action Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Panola College in a makeup game. The second half of a scheduled doubleheader last Tuesday was rained out. BPCC won the opener. 7-3.
