College baseball: Former Benton star Cole homers twice in BPCC sweep


The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers swept TCS Post Grad 10-2 and 8-7 at BPCC Saturday.

Former Benton star Andrew Cole blasted two home runs and had four RBI for BPCC in Game 1. Matt Hammock went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Dakota Wright had three hits, including a double.

John Michael Boswell and Joseph Tassin had two hits each. Tye Holliday belted a three-run homer.

Doc Wilkerson got the win. He allowed five hits and struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings.

Tassin’s ninth-inning leadoff homer lifted the Cavs to the Game 2 victory. It came after TCS Post Grad tied the game at 7 with two runs in the top of the inning.

Holliday, Luis Santiago and Cole Pippin also homered in the game. Tassin and Zach Bellelo had two hits each.

Reliever Wyatt Butler got the win. He got the final two outs in the ninth after TCS Post Grad tied it.

BPCC (5-8) returns to action Tuesday with a 2 p.m. home game against Hill College.
