With a 7-1 win at University of the Southwest (N.M.) in the first game of a doubleheader Friday, LSUS baseball secured its place in NAIA baseball history.
The No. 1 Pilots improved to 38-0, the best start ever to a season. LSUS made it 39-0 with a 12-2 victory in the secondary game.
The longest NAIA baseball winning streak of any kind is 41 games by Point Park in 1990.
The longest college baseball winning streak regardless of division? Division II Savannah State won 46 games to the start the 2000 season.
The Pilots have a chance to tie Point Park’s streak at 41 games Tuesday at home against Nelson.
LSUS is at home this weekend against No. 15 Houston-Victoria in a three-game series starting Friday.
