College basketball: BPCC men at home, women on road for conference games Wednesday

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers are at home Wednesday while the Lady Cavaliers hit the road.

The Cavaliers (11-8, 5-5 Region XIV) face Navarro (11-9, 5-5) in the Billy Montgomery Gymnasium at 7 p.m.

The Lady Cavs (10-8, 3-5) travel to Lufkin, Texas, for a 6 o’clock matchup against Angelina College (13-6, 3-5).

The BPCC men are coming off an 87-72 loss to Trinity Valley in Athens, Texas.

Jaeden Marshall led the Cavs with 25 points. He was 8-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

The Cavaliers were unable to overcome a 53-31 halftime deficit.

BPCC’s Derick Hamilton, a 6-foot-10 forward from Baton Rouge, leads Region XIV in field-goal shooting percentage at 70.9 (95-of-134).

Navarro, which has lost three in a row, is coming off an 81-70 loss to Panola 

The BPCC women defeated Paris Junior College 77-75 at home Saturday.

Faith Robinson led the Lady Cavs with 17 points. Ma’Kaila Lewis and Sha’Nia Davis scored 14 each.

Angelina fell to Trinity Valley 70-69 Monday.

Angelina’s Lovietta Walker is the leading scorer in the conference at 17.8 points per game.

Lewis ranks fifth in scoring (15.9) and second in field-goal shooting percentage (56.6). She also ranks fifth in rebounding (10.4).

Robinson ranks second in rebounding at 11.1 and fourth in field-goal shooting percentage (54).
