The Bossier Parish Community College men’s basketball team opens the season Wednesday night at home against Cy Fair Prep at 7 p.m.
The Cavs are coming off a 10-21 season in head coach Chris Lovell’s first season. It was BPCC’s first double-digit win season in seven years.
BPCC also qualified for the Region XIV tournament for the first time since joining the conference.
The Cavs’ projected started lineup for the season opener is Tim Collins, 6-foot-2 sophomore point guard from Dallas, Jason Holliday, 6-5 freshman shooting guard from Baton Rouge, Brandon Moore, 6-6 sophomore small forward from Dallas, Mubarak Muhammad, 6-8 sophomore power forward from Abuja, Nigera and David Williams, 6-8 freshman center from New Orleans.
“This year’s team will be a lot more athletic and deeper than the teams we have had here in the past,” Lovell said in a press release. “We are excited to start the season and compete in a very challenging conference and schedule. I think the fans will be able to look forward to an exciting brand of basketball on the court.”
