College football: Former Airline star Hildebrand reaches milestone


Former Airline star Hayden Hildebrand moved up to third all-time on the Central Arkansas career passing list with his performance in a 27-7 victory over Houston Baptist on Saturday.

Hildebrand, a 2013 graduate of Airline, completed 19 of 30 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns. He has passed for 6,226 yards in his career, third in school history behind Randy Huffstickler (7,360) and Nathan Brown (10,558).

Hildebrand was named the Southland Conference’s Offensive PLayer of the Week after passing for 294 yards and four touchdowns in Central Arkansas’ 41-30 victory over then No. 3 Sam Houston State on Sept. 30. The victory snapped the Bearkats’ 12-game conference winning streak.

Hildebrand completed touchdown passes of 25, 46, 74 and 17 yards.

For the season, he has completed 91 of 135 passes for 1,330 yards and 11 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Central Arkansas is 4-1 and leads the SLC at 3-0.
