Bossier Parish Community College will serve as the host site for the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIV Division I Softball Tournament, scheduled for May 3–6 at the Cavalier Softball Field. This marks the second time BPCC has hosted the prestigious event, with the first tournament taking place on its campus in 2023.

The double-elimination tournament will feature the top eight teams from Region XIV, with the four highest-seeded programs from both the North and South divisions earning a spot in the competition. The top two teams emerging from the tournament will secure a berth in the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series, which will be held May 19–24 at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex in Yuma, Arizona.

“We’re honored to host the NJCAA DI Region XIV Softball Tournament this year and to welcome teams and fans to our facilities for a great series of softball,” said Amanda Nordberg, Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach at BPCC. “Many of the colleges within Region XIV continue to be recognized at the national level, and we are looking forward to bringing a high level of collegiate softball to our community.”

Region XIV is widely regarded as one of the most competitive regions in NJCAA softball, with multiple teams earning national rankings and postseason recognition in recent years. Hosting the regional tournament not only highlights BPCC’s commitment to athletic excellence but also provides a unique opportunity to showcase its top-tier athletic facilities to visiting teams, fans, and scouts.

BPCC’s softball complex, which was renovated in 2023, features a professional-grade turf infield, elevated grandstand seating, press box, team locker rooms, and stadium lighting to accommodate evening play. Adjacent to the field, spectators can enjoy convenient access to a concession stand and restrooms. The College will also utilize its new livestreaming platform to broadcast all tournament games, providing fans near and far an opportunity to follow the action in real time.

“The event promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and skill as teams compete for the championship title,” Nordberg said. “We encourage the local community to come out and support these incredible student-athletes and enjoy some of the best softball the NJCAA has to offer.”

Sara Nelms, Director of Sports for the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission, echoed Nordberg’s excitement for the 2025 tournament.

“We are excited to be partnering with BPCC to host this regional tournament in Bossier City,” Nelms said. “Most of the teams will be traveling from out of state and our community is ready to welcome them! We are estimating an economic impact of over $200,000.”

Tickets for the tournament can be purchased in person one hour prior to the start of each day’s first game at the Cavalier Softball Field, located at 6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City. Fans can also follow Bossier Parish Community College on social media for updates related to the tournament. Games will be live streamed on BPCC’s YouTube channel.
