College softball: Conference leader BPCC sweeps Tyler JC

The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs swept Tyler Junior College 13-0 and 4-3 Wednesday at BPCC.

BPCC leads Region XIV at 13-1. The Lady Cavs improved to 25-7 overall. Tyler dropped to 22-16 and 6-6,

Princess Aholelei gave up just three hits in the five-inning first game. She struck out seven and walked one.

Haylee Ladner went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Kennedy Cox went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.

Precious Aholelei went 2-for-2 with a double. Delaini Daughenbaugh had two RBI. Nicolette Blenker had a double.

The Lady Cavs scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the second game.

Haylee Ladner led off with a single, advanced to second on a groundout by Fia Tofi and reached third on a single by Blenker. She scored on a sacrifice fly by Cox.

Dyllan Sanay went 3-for-4. Ladner finished 2-for-4 with a double. Blenker also went 2-for-4.

Primrose Aholelei pitched the final four innings. She allowed one hit, struck out five and walked one.

BPCC returns to action Friday with a 1 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Baton Rouge Community College at Brusly High.
