College softball: Former Haughton star Dies helps BPCC pick up two victories


Former Haughton star Anna Dies helped the the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs win two games at an event in Raymond, Miss., on Saturday.

The Lady Cavs defeated Hinds Community College 13-4 and Holmes Community College 8-1.

Dies went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI in the victory over Hinds. Dies, the two-time MVP on the All-Parish team, started on the mound. She allowed six hits and two earned runs in five innings while striking out four.

Brea Robinson went 3-for-4. Krissy Williams also had three hits. Micah Gray had two hits and two RBI.

Alex Greer, former Haughton standout Kirsten Martin and Katelin Temple had two hits apiece.

Dies went 2-for-3 with two RBI against Holmes. Kat Finley had three hits, including a double. Greer, Kacey Maines and Williams all had two hits. Temple, Maines and Williams had doubles.

Ashley Nipper scattered seven hits to get the win.

BPCC returns to action Friday in the Crossover Tournament in Longview, Texas.
