College softball: Northeast Texas sweeps BPCC


The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers were swept by Northeast Texas Community College 9-8 and 11-5 at BPCC.

BPCC dropped to 32-14 overall and 8-10 in Region XIV. Northeast Texas improved to 12-22 and 7-11.

Game 1 was tied at 4 after eight innings. Northeast Texas put five on the board in the top of the ninth. BPCC rallied in the bottom of the inning but couldn’t come all the way back, scoring four.

BPCC’s Ally Klein went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. Ruby Butler went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBI.

Hailey Pence went 2-for-4. Emily Hardy hit a solo home run. Former Benton standout Abi Cole had an RBI-double.

Klein hit two more home runs in Game 2 and had three RBI. Butler and Haley Ebey hit solo home runs. Cole had another double.

BPCC is scheduled to return to action Friday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas.
