The Community Foundation of North Louisiana has allocated $500,000 to encourage local museums and arts organizations to establish or add to an existing endowment fund with the Community Foundation of North Louisiana.
The Carolyn Q. Nelson Arts Endowment Challenge will begin with a required pre-application meeting Monday, September 28 at 10 a.m. in Community Central. Five organizations will be selected through a competitive application process and are required to raise at least $100,000. The Community Foundation will then provide a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $100,000 for the five selected organizations. Complete application details will be discussed at the informational meeting and can be found on the Community Foundation’s website under the Grant Seekers tab.
This endowment challenge is made possible through a generous bequest from Carolyn Q. Nelson, a former Community Foundation board member and an avid supporter of the arts and museums of all kinds. The Foundation is honored to be a steward of Carolyn’s philanthropic legacy by offering this endowment challenge.
