The Bossier Parish Police Jury would like to extend its sincerest apologies for an emergency alert
that was mistakenly sent out this afternoon to residents across the parish.
The alert, which referred to a boil water advisory, was intended solely for residents living in the
Haughton area near Highway 614, Virginia Road, and Stewart Road. Unfortunately, due to a
technical error, the message was distributed parish-wide.
We understand the confusion and concern this may have caused and are taking immediate steps
to ensure this does not happen again. The boil advisory remains in effect only for the affected
Haughton neighborhoods. All other residents may disregard the alert.
Original Notice (For Affected Area Only):
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the water service was temporarily interrupted and has since
been restored. As a precaution, a boil water advisory is in effect for the impacted area. Residents
in the affected zone should:
Boil all water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth for at least one minute.
Use bottled water if boiling is not possible.
Avoid using ice made from tap water.
Use boiled or bottled water when preparing food or beverages.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. We will notify residents when it has been
lifted.
We deeply regret the inconvenience and confusion caused by this error. The health and safety of
our residents remain our top priority.
