Cross country: Cope girls win middle school state title; Cope’s Dart wins boys’ division

Cope won the girls’ title in the middle school cross country state meet on Saturday at ULM.

Cope’s Will Dart took the individual boys’ title and Clayton Fry was the sixth-grade runner-up.

Avery Meeks placed fourth in the girls’ division and Brooklyn Casey was fifth. Other Lady Cougars in the scoring were Alizeonna King (14th), Malia Morton (20th) and Katie Curtis (24th).

Cope finished runner-up in the boys’ division. Jose Santiago-Rivera finished eighth and Nick Jump was 13th.

Cope finished third in both the sixth-grade boys’ and girls’ divisions. Landon Small was fifth in the boys’ division, Logan Culligan 18th and Zachary Zeigler 22nd. Sophia LaBue was sixth in the girls’ division, Hannah Sasser 20th, Natalie Briggs 22nd and Jessica Guel-Frank 25th.
