Boy Scout Brian Barteet is spending the summer working on his Eagle Scout Project and the Cypress Nature Study Center in Benton is benefitting from it.

Barteet, who is a Scout with Troop 205, has been working for months at the Nature Center. Most recently he has been installing 34 tree signs along the trail at the Cypress Nature Study Center. Each sign was built from treated lumber, then labeled with the common and scientific name of each native tree. The tree identification signs will be utilized by Bossier Parish students during their cross-curricular field trips and the public when they enjoy Cypress Nature Study Center.
