HAUGHTON – Funeral services for David Towns, 59, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Rhodes of the Simple Church. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA.

David was born to Al and Juliette Towns on October 6, 1954 in Brunswick, ME and died March 8, 2014 in Haughton, LA after a brief battle with cancer. He was a graduate of LSUS with a degree in Political Science. David was a former paramedic for the Shreveport Fire Department and also a former case manager for Vision Quest.

His parents precede him in death.

David is survived by sisters, Sandra Boyett, Patti Humphries and husband Gary all of Haughton, LA; nieces and nephews, David Boyett and wife Leslie, Chad Boyett and wife Christy, Jennifer Menard and husband Chris, Jason Humphries, Brandi Humphries, Autumn Humphries, Chris Boyett and 13 great nieces and nephews.

Honoring David as pallbearers will be his nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Robyn Watkins, Valarie Johnson and the staff of Christus Hospice for their loving care of David. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Christus Hospice or to the charity of your choice .

It is David’s wish that everyone dress casual and comfortable for his services.
