Haynesville native and nine-year NFL veteran defensive lineman Demetric Evans will serve as the keynote speaker for the Camping World Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic on Saturday.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Evans played for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers during his NFL career.
Evans will be joined by coaches from Grambling State, Mississippi Valley State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist, as well as former Louisiana Tech kicker Matt Nelson.
The clinic is free and open to all kids ages 5-13. Parents are encouraged to register their children prior to the event by going to www.CampingWorldIndependenceBowl.com and completing the online registration and waiver form.
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Independence Stadium. Check-in will begin at 7 a.m. at the southwest entrance to the stadium.
Lunch and t-shirts will be provided to participants free of charge at the conclusion of the clinic.
