Deputy promoted


Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington promoted Deputy Johnnie Estess to the rank of sergeant in a ceremony last week.

Sgt. Johnnie Estess, a 14-year veteran with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, serves as the Special Services Coordinator, managing functions of the nearly 200 members on the Sheriff’s Posse.

Estess PromotionEstess, who previously served in Patrol, Narcotics and Courthouse Security, coordinates Posse members to assist with funeral escorts conducted by the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and Bossier City Police Department. He also oversees the Vacation Home Watch program within the city limits of Bossier City, assists with the Operation Blessing food bank program and various events at the Viking Drive Substation.
