The South Bossier Lunch Group held its monthly meeting at the Bellaire South Complex in Bossier City on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. The guest speaker for the meeting was Capt. Adam Johnson, director of security for Bossier Parish Schools. Capt. Johnson spoke about school safety and the importance of security for students and the school system.

“Bossier Parish is unique within the state because we have a sheriff and a superintendent who work so closely together regarding school safety. We have a school resource officer at every single school. They are not security officers. They are post-certified law enforcement officers,” Capt. Johnson said.

“If you took these SROs away from these schools, it would be very overwhelming for every police department and sheriff’s department. It is an incredible resource for us to have them in these schools. We’re fortunate in Bossier Parish to have this. It’s not like this everywhere else,” he added.

The South Bossier Lunch Group aims to unite individuals in the South Bossier community who seek to stay informed and make a positive impact. Through their monthly luncheons, the group facilitates networking among South Bossier business owners, stakeholders, community leaders, and partners, fostering discussions on the growth, development, and business prospects of South Bossier and Bossier City.
