A colossal party (on ice) is coming to town and you’re invited!
Disney on Ice will be in Bossier City with its all new show, Let’s Celebrate! Audiences are invited to make an ordinary day extraordinary and enjoy some of the world’s most popular festivities, including a winter wonderland with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a Halloween haunt with the Disney Villains, a Hawaiian luau with Lilo and Stitch, a Royal Ball with the Disney Princesses, a Very Merry Unbirthday Party and more in one action-packed and positively unforgettable celebration.
Bonard Muck said being part of this show has literally been a fairytale. Muck plays the role of Prince Eric alongside his wife, who portrays Ariel.
“We met on this current tour during the initial rehearsal time. We started dating and a couple years later we were married,” he said. “It is our own little fairytale.”
Muck, a native of Blackville, New Brunswick, Canada, began skating when he was 7-years-old.
“Growing up in Canada, everyone is into hockey,” he said. “My parents put me in hockey as a young boy and I couldn’t skate very well. My sister was in figure skating at the time so they put me in it to learn basic skills for hockey. After I did that for a year or two, I became a better skater and realized I was an artsy kid.”
He stuck with figure skating and never looked back. With training in ballet, jazz and ballroom dancing, Muck went on to win third place in the novice dance portion of the Canadian Championships and second place in the same category at the 1999 Canadian Winter Games.
He joined Feld Entertainment in 2001 and enjoys “combining athletics with theater” as a Disney On Ice skater.
Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! Presented by Yokids features more than 50 characters from 16 Disney stories live on ice. In each performance, Muck hopes to take the audience into a fantasy land for a short time, and says he thrives off “the look that we bring to people’s faces.”
“What I love about our show is that it’s very unique,” he said. “Instead of coming in to your town and telling you the stories you already know, we come in with the characters and mix them in with life. It’s really fun…it’s different and something we’ve never done before.”
Seven performance times are scheduled April 14 through April 17 at the CenturyLink Center. Muck added that he hopes this show will bring a lot of smiles and happy moments into the community, following a historic flood that has many families picking up the pieces and starting over.
“We are bringing happy memories to your community,” Muck said. “This is a show for everybody – boys, girls, mom, dad, grandparents. It’s all of the stories we love and it’s Disney. No matter where we go or what we’ve been through, this show leaves a positive impact and will make you smile.”
Seeing those smiles, Muck said, are what make this experience so memorable.
