Dixie 11-12 O-Zone state tournament starts Friday in Princeton

The Dixie O-Zone 11-12 state tournament starts Friday at the Lawson Bo Brandon Sports Complex in Princeton.
Among the teams competing in the double-elimation event are District 4 champion Bossier, runner-up Benton and host Haughton.
Bossier faces District 8 runner-up Tioga Ward 10 at 1 p.m., Benton plays District 8 champion Pineville at 5:30 and Haughton takes on District 5 champion EORD at 7:30. The tournament runs through Tuesday.
Members the Bossier All-Stars include Collier Cloinger, Parker Stevens, Xavier Murphy, CJ McMahon, Mickey Parks, Brian Roberson, Josh Stoll, Hunter Whiteside, Cole Collins, Lucas McKain, Grayson Mims and Liam Rogers.
Members of the Benton All-Stars include Colby Glovier, Ryley Sharp, Jeremy Hall, Jackson Kennedy, Cole Waites, Lucas Gilmer, Shawn Austin Nugent, Trae Broomfield Carter, Hunter Newton, Braden Bell, Grant Talley and Logan Earnest.
Members of the Haughton All-Stars include Carson Gilmore, Caleb Green, Logan Hendrix, Dawson Hunt, Hunter Jenkins, Matthew Nesbit, Noah Patterson, Josh Peterman, Jameson Rose IV, Logan Shepherd, Landon Thompson and Brandon Warren.
The Bossier 9 AAA All-Stars open play in the World Series Saturday in Longview, Texas.
Members of the team include Chase Rambin, Clayton Brandon, Kenner Lauterbach, Zach Shoenborn, Eli Harper, Riley Sitter, Wesley Gardner, Noah McWilliams, Conner Stevens, Collin Wiggins and Gibson Harvill.
Elsewhere, the Bossier All-Stars went 3-2 in pool play in the Dixie 7-8 Machine Pitch World Series in Texarkana.
Bossier opened the tournament with wins over Georgia 3-1 and Virgina 13-1. After losing to Arkansas, Bossier rebounded with an 11-4 victory over Texas.
Bossier came close to making it to the four-team double-elimination bracket, losing a tough one-run game to North Carolina in its final pool play game.
