Dixie Baseball: Bossier City All-Stars make Junior Boys (13s) final four, seek spot in championship round Tuesday

The Bossier City All-Stars advanced to the final four of the Dixie Junior Boys (13s) World Series on Monday at Tinsley Park.

Bossier City got off to fast start and cruised to a 12-5 victory over Florida state champion Spring Hill in an elimination game. Bossier City faces Mississippi state champ Hattiesburg in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Hattiesburg fell to Fairhope, Ala., 7-2 in the winners’ bracket finals Monday night.

Fairhope, the lone undefeated team remaining in the tournament, plays Louisiana state champion Jefferson Parish Recreation District-West at 7 Tuesday. JPRD-West must win to stay alive.

Bossier City jumped out to a 6-0 lead through 2.5 innings against Spring Hill. Spring Hill got on the board with a run in the bottom of the third and cut the lead to three in the bottom of the fifth. Bossier City finished strong with three in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Bossier City’s Preston Cooper went 2-for-2 with two triples and three RBI. Clayton Brandon went 2-for-4. Triston Hargrove and Riley Sitter both had triples. Connor Blank and James Ross had doubles.

David Favrot, Brendan Burns and Sergio Delgado had one single apiece.

The Dixie Boys (14s) World Series tournament is also down to four teams. Kings Mountain, N.C., faces Lancaster, S.C., in an elimination game at 4 Tuesday. Dyersburg, Tenn., plays West Seminole, Fla., at 7.

Dyersburg, which defeated Lancaster, S.C., 6-3 in the winners’ bracket finals Monday, is the only remaining team without a loss.
