BOSSIER CITY – A memorial service celebrating the life of Donald Wallace Winslow, Jr., 69, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Frances Duron. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Donald was born in Oregon City, OR on July 23, 1944 and passed away on April 8, 2014. He was a resident of Bossier City. Since his illness kept him home, he enjoyed watching First Baptist Church of Texarkana. He retired after 29 years of service as a Law Enforcement Superintendent with the U. S. Air Force, and after 18 years as a Lt. Security Police Officer with the VA Hospital. He enjoyed numerous hobbies, which included: sports, fishing, bird watching, searching for seashells and sand dollars at the beach, woodworking projects, making picture keepsakes and scrapbooks, planning vacations, and traveling. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren where he was their #1 fan in all their activities. He was always concerned with everyone’s happiness and took pride in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Winslow; son, Randall Hayes. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Beverly Ann Winslow; sons: Donald Winslow III, and his wife Joyce, and Daniel Winslow; daughters: Lana Winslow and husband Greg, and Amanda Nall and husband Jeff; grandchildren: Andrew Winslow, Christian Darden, Nicole Winslow, Brittany Hayes, Raleigh Shelton II, Jason Nall, Isabella Nall, AnnaClaire Nall; siblings: Marion Newton, Donna Clark, Diane Rhode.
