BOSSIER CITY – A graveside service for Dorothy Mae Cathey, 85, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Simsboro, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Cathey. Visitation will be prior to the service Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. at Creekwood Gardens, 2146 Hwy 147, Simsboro, LA.
Dorothy was born April 19, 1928 in Frankland, AL to George and Myrtle Watkins Mason. She died November 8, 2013 in Bossier City, LA. Dorothy was a dietary manager in the medical field. She was a member of the Dietary Managers Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben A. Cathey and a daughter, Brenda Kay Cathey Carr.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Helen Thornton of Bossier City, LA; sister, Cleo Dunbar of Bristow, OK; grandchildren, Jason Carr and wife Lisa, Ryan Carr and wife Nicole, Amy E. Thornton and great granddaughter, Brynn E. Carr.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pilgrim Manor for the loving care of our mother and grandmother.
The family requests any memorials go to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
