PRINCETON – Funeral services celebrating the life of Dwight “Dee” Anna Tipton Russell, 79, will be held at 11:30 AM on October 12, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service at Hill Crest Funeral Home on October 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Per Dee’s request, dress casual.
Dee Russell, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on October 3, 2013. Dee was born in Kingsport, TN on March 27, 1934, to James Leonard and Bessie Ann Tipton. She married Franklin D. Russell on December 3, 1953. They were married for 59 years. Dee was a military wife, following her husband’s military career for 46 years. They retired in Bossier City, LA. Dee’s hobbies were cooking, tending to her roses, and embroidery pillows and quilts. She loved to watch the LSU Tigers play football.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Franklin D. Russell; sons, Frank Russell, Jr. and wife Ebba, James Russell and wife Cynthia; daughter, Gail Russell Dull and husband Charles; a sister, Nell Quillen; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Russell, James Tripp, Ricky Tripp, Chris Tripp, Dalton Dull and a family friend, Colt McEntyre.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Dee’s daughter, Gail, for taking such wonderful care of her mother in her last few months.
