HAUGHTON – A graveside service for Edna Mae Childs, 87, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Haughton Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Gevan Spinney, pastor of Haughton Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 and at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Mrs. Childs was born October 27, 1926 in Sunflower, MS to Henry and Pearl Collins Liles and died December 25, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. She was a retired postal clerk and of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, O.E. Childs, son, Henry Childs; two brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are her sons, Richard Childs and wife Judy, Loyd Childs; daughter, Lorece “Rece” Smith and husband Kenneth; brother, Jimmy Liles; daughter-in-law, Marcelle Childs and a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Childs as pallbearers will be Tyler Johnson, Kevin Childs, Brad Childs, Billy Ray Smith, Danny Walker and Bobby Pipes.
